EMPORIA Oma Lou Beattie, 76, of Emporia, died May 31, 2003, in Norman, Okla.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Flint Hills Christian Church, 1836 East Highway 50, Emporia. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Memorial Lawn Cemetery at Arkansas City.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Village School PTO c/o Stacy Ruth, 9824 NW 87th, Kansas City, MO 64153.

Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman is in charge of arrangements.

Beattie was born in Winfield, to Golda (Thomas) and Clarence L. Hall. She grew up in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School. In 1984 she moved to Emporia.

A homemaker, she was a member of the First Christian Church of Arkansas City.

Her first husband, Frank Edward Burns, died Dec. 23, 1967, and her second husband, Newell Beattie, died in 1983. A daughter also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Burns, Norman, and David Burns, Topeka; and eight grandchildren.
