Topeka State Journal Wednesday 23 May, 1973:


HUTCHINSON - J. Rex Everett, 52, long-time Topekan who moved to Dodgy City three months ago, died Monday of an apparent heart attack at Colby. He was a salesman for Proctor & Gamble Co. at Dodge City. Mr. Everett had lived in Topeka for 23 years.


He was born Dec. 20, 1920 at Hutchinson where he lived during his early years before moving to Topeka. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Moose Lodge, both in dodge City. He was a veteran of World War II.


He was married to Nancy Gibbs on Sept. 17, 1971 at Concordia. She survives. Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Ethel Everett, Hutchinson, and a sister, Mrs. Jane Ann Alee, Colorado City, Colo.


Services will be Thursday at Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson.
