Cecilia A. Forge
Cecilia a. Forge, 81, died early Saturday at St. John Hospital. A lifelong resident of Leavenworth County, she was born near Easton April 23, 1896, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Dachs Schmidt, and married Herman J. Forge Sr. in 1919. Forge died in 1974 nine years after he retired from farming in the Salt Creek area.
Mrs. Forge was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Daughters of Isabella, the LCBA, the Marian Mothers Club and the Friendship Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Sister Helen Forge, SCL, Mother house, Leavenworth; two sons, Herman J. Forge Jr. RR 4, and Eugene A. Forge, Austin, Tex.; one brother, John Schmidt, Easton; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Herkins, Westminster, Calif., Mrs. Agnes Herken, Easton, Mrs. Frances Aaron, RR3, and Mrs. Bertha McQuillan, Lansing; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church with burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Rosaries will be recited Monday at Belden Sexton Sumpter Funeral Chapel at 3 p.m by the Daughters of LCBA and the Marian Mothers Club, and at 8 p.m. by friends and members of the parish.
Friends may call at the chapel after 11 a.m. Sunday. The family suggests memorials to Immaculate Conception Church or the Archdiocesan Education Fund.
