Rose Mary Frietchen, 92, of Leavenworth, died Thursday, May 29, 2008, at St. John Hospital. She was born July 14, 1915, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Nowowiejski) Haas. Due to the death of her mother at an early age, Rose was unable to continue school so she could care for her three brothers and two sisters.
Rose was a life-long Leavenworth resident, she attended school in Leavenworth and worked at the Post Exchange, Munson Hospital and as a dental office receptionist for Doctors' Burns, Grigsby and Phillips.
On Sept. 15, 1940, she married Raymond Mathew Frietchen in Leavenworth. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1965.
Rose is survived by her children, Kay Ann (Ted) Westerman of Calabasas, Calif., and Jerry (Mitzie) Frietchen of Leavenworth; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
