Clara Corinne Bass, 87 of Georgetown, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013. Lovingly known by most as Corinne, she will be laid to rest next to her husband on Monday, June 17, 2013 at IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown.

Corinne was born February 4, 1926 in Amarillo, Texas to the late Comer and Dona Doreen Wright Thompson. Raised in the Amarillo area she graduated from Amarillo High School. It was there in high school where she met her future husband, John Howard Bass. John went away to fight in WWII and they were married upon his return on October 18, 1946 in Amarillo, Texas. Corinne saved all the correspondence she and John shared during his time away. Corinne was a supportive wife, as John went to work for Texaco. She enjoyed entertaining in their home and was a devoted mother.

Corinne was a wonderful cook and was known for her party foods. She and John enjoyed traveling; their adventures took them all over the world. Corinne and John moved to Georgetown in 1998 from Breckenridge, Texas where they had lived for about 15 years.

John preceded Corinne in death in 1999 after 53 years of marriage. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Comer and Dona Thompson and her sister, Gwen Perkins.
