Mr. Shelton was born to Alonzo and Annie Carstine Shelton on April 4, 1937. He was a member of Crescent Heights United Methodist Church and an avid outdoorsman, loving hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Johnny Andrew Shelton and Grady George Shelton.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cleta Shelton, of Chandler; his children, Edwin Shelton, Jackie E. "Scooter" Shelton and Brenda Hockenberry; brothers, Eddie Shelton, Robert Shelton, James Shelton; sisters, Sally McKelvey, Amanda Marshall, Rose Wilson, Carolyn Hillman, Jessie Parker, Donna Bates, Peggy Mendez; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
