Widow of Major General Robert Patrick Lukeman former resident of Arlington and McLean, VA., passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 in Charlotte, NC.

She was born on February 27, 1931 to Allan and Matilda Lewis in Shippenville, PA.She is survived by two sisters: Theda Salerno of Pueblo, Colorado, and Joyce Spitzer of Charlotte, NC. Aunt to Michelle Ziegler, Christopher Salerno, Erik Spitzer and Alicia Watson. Great Aunt to Henry and Rowan Ziegler, Timothy and Gregory Watson, Andrew and Addison Spitzer. Step-mother to Patricia Anne McConnell of TX, Christine Ellen Weinstein of CA and Robert Lukeman Jr of TX. Step-children; Kevin, Ryan and Collin McConnell, Taylor Mosher, Clair and Robert Patrick Lukeman, III. She had 36 years of being an Administrative Secretary, supporting military operations which began when she graduated from the Stenotype Institute of Pittsburgh, PA., where she was chosen by The Joint Chiefs of Staff to be a stenographer at the Pentagon.Beginning in May 1951 -Sept. 1954. Joint Chiefs of Staff (Joint Communications- Electronics Division), Washington, D.C. , September 1954 to 1956 Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), Office of the Chief Signal Officer, Paris, France, October 1956 to April 1959, Headquarters Strategic Air Command (Inspector General), Offutt AFB, Nebraska, April 1959 to December 1959 - Joint Chiefs of Staff (J-6), Washington, DC, December 1959 to April 1962 Net Evaluation Subcommittee, National Security Council, Washington, DC, April1962to May 1964 Joint Chiefs of Staff (J-5), Washington, DC, April 1964 to June 1965 United States Mission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and European Regional Organization (USRO) , Paris, France, October 1965 to August 1968 Headquarters U.S. Air Force (Intelligence) Washington, DC, August 1968 to 1988 Office of the Secretary Air Force (SAF/ILI; now SAF/MII). In January 1988 received the Decoration for Exceptional Civilian Service.

She will be buried with her husband Major General Robert Patrick Lukeman in the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at Arlington on April 3, at 9 a.m.
