Harry W. Austin Jr., 83, of Chapin Avenue, a forklift operator for the Grinnell Corp., Cranston, for 30 years before retiring in 1974, died yesterday at Kent County Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Edith M. (Whittaker) Austin.
He was the husband of the late Gertrude (Hockenhull) Austin.
Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Harry W. Austin Sr., and Anna (Taft) Austin.
Mr. Austin was a member of Woodbury Union Church, Presbyterian, the VIB bowling league, and the AARP.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son, a stepdaughter, a brother, a sister, four grandchildren and a great-grandson.
He was brother of the late Bernice Barvey.
