Ember Warfel, 21 months, was found deceased in her crib on July 29, 2015. According to police Ember's father, Eric Warfel, said the child died on or around June 18. Warfel failed to notify anyone of the child's death. He even admitted he'd been throwing trash into the child's bedroom to cover up the smell of the decomposing body.

He was located by police in Westlake, Ohio, with his 7-year-old daughter and was arrested and charged with abuse of a corpse.

Warfel also had a five-month-old daughter named Erin Delynn Warfel that died in March 2013, the records show. The baby died while Warfel lived in Cleveland, and the cause of death was ruled as "sudden unexplained infant death," according to the Associated Press.

Citizens in a neighborhood in Medina, Ohio, are trying to recover after a shocking discovery was found in the home of Eric Warfel. A cable company worker found the man's 20-month-old daughter Ember dead and rotting inside of her crib, reported WEWS NewsChannel5. He is being charged with gross abuse of a corpse among other charges.

While authorities were searching for the mother, they learned that the 34-year-old father had full custody of his daughter in 2015. During the couple's divorce proceedings in 2014, a judge ruled that Ember's mother was unfit to care for the child due to her issues with substance abuse. In addition to Ember's death, the father is being investigated for possible drug charges after police raided the hotel where he was staying and found a substance believed to be cocaine in the room.
