James Hogan was killed by his brother Thomas at Yarrawonga. On the 16 February, they had a quarrel, and Thomas Hogan, who had a gun in his hand, levelled the gun at his brother James and shot him dead. Thomas Hogan was arrested for murder, he was hung at the Beechworth Gaol on 10 June 1879.
