He was born Nov. 10, 1941, at Pendleton, Ore., to Chief Edward Scott and Mary Johnly Hines.
Edward worked as a farmhand during his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and leatherwork.
He is survived by his brothers, Frank Scott Sr., and Raymond Scott, both of Lapwai, Larry Hines of Pendleton; a sister, Judy Hines of Pendleton; cousins, Edward James and Tessie Williams, both of Mission, Ore.; nieces, Julie Scott, Doris Scott, both of Mission; and a nephew, Lee Eric Scott of Mission.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Audrey Blackhawk, Doris Scott and Beverly Hines; a brother, Arlen Hines; and his parents.
A graveside service will be 8 a.m. Saturday at the [Lenore] Cemetery. A lunch will follow at around noon at the home of Jan Van Pelt, located at U.S. Highway 12, mile post 13.
