William J. Marcheskie, 82, entered peacefully into rest on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at 4 p.m., at his daughters residence following a lengthy illness.

William was born July 22, 1930, in Shamokin, Pa., the son of the late Martin F. and Mary E. (Berran) Marcheskie and was a resident of Newton Falls and the Warren area since 1957, moving here from Tamaqua, Pa.

He was a graduate of St. Edwards High School in Shamokin, Class of 1949, and was employed with the American Welding Corporation as a tool room attendant for 34 years, retiring from his duties in 1991. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton Falls and later St. Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church in Cortland.

William also had served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

On Oct. 5, 1956, William was united into marriage with the former Dorothy A. (Sembach) Marcheskie and had shared 56 loving years together.

His memories will be remembered and cherished by those he leaves behind, his wife, Dorothy A. Marcheskie; son, Lee W. Marcheskie of Longwood, Fla.; daughter, Dr. Toni Alice (Richard Duke Harbison) Marcheskie of Cortland; brother, Kenneth Marcheskie of Wilmington, Del.; sister, Louise Marcheskie of Wilmington, Del.; and grandchildren, Michael, Mark and Rachel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Carl, Edward and Robert Marcheskie; and sister, Mary Hancock.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church in Cortland,

Visitation will be today, Jan. 1, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren, and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Officiating will be the Rev. Carl G. Kish.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road, NE, Warren, OH 44483.
