Jerry Ray Henderson, 78, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015, at Galena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an illness.

Jerry was born March 4, 1937 in Galena, Kan. His parents were Ray and Audrey (Coberley) Henderson. He was a lifetime resident of Galena. He graduated from Galena High School with the Class of 1956.

Jerry was a cook for several years at Pickle Jean's Restaurant and then later with the Meal on Wheels program in Galena. He enjoyed gardening and yard work.

Surviving are two brothers, Stan (wife, Emmajo) Henderson and Bobby Henderson both of Galena; one sister, Barbara (husband, Bob) Bishop, Raymore, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Sonny Lanyon, Galena, Kan., and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Lanyon and Janet Henderson and one brother, Kenneth Henderson.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
