He was born on August 19, 1930 in the town of Little Falls, the son of the late Harris E. and Margaret (Murray) Deming. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, Little Falls.
On May 22, 1954, Mr. Deming was united in marriage to his wife of 43 years, the former Nancy L. Petrie at St. Mary’s Church, Little Falls. Mrs. Deming predeceased him on February 25, 1998.
Mr. Deming was a member of the Holy Family Parish Church, in Little Falls, where he served as an usher for many years. He was also a honorary member of the DeCarlo-Staffo Post #8 ITAM, Little Falls, where he enjoyed spending time with friends and calling Bingo games. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and many friends. He showered his family, friends and community with love, kindness, and contagious laughter.
His powerful voice was often heard singing “God Bless America” before Diamond Dawg baseball games, at different Veterans’ functions, and most recently on his own YouTube Channel, "Ron the Acapella Guy.” He was an avid sports fan, especially the Washington Redskins, and enjoyed working in his yard and putting up firewood in the fall.
For several years he was employed by the Burrows Paper Corp., Little Falls, and at the Petrie Family Dairy Farm, Little Falls. For 14 years he was the owner and operator of Deming’s Taxi Service. He was last employed as a custodian for the Little Falls City School District retiring in 1992.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Ronald C. and Sally Deming, Little Falls, and his daughter; Diane Smith, Little Falls, his grandchildren Tara Krasuski and her husband Keith, Little Falls, Bryan Smith and his wife Julia, Fairport, NY, Nicole Kraft-Deming, Clinton, NY, and Leah Deming, Marina del Rey, CA, his great-grandchildren; Alana Smith and Zarek Krasuski, his sisters-in-law; Ruth Petrie-Wheeler and Elizabeth Seifried-Deming, Little Falls, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers; Joseph Royce Deming in 1988, Leonard Deming in 1991, and Francis H. Deming in 1993, and by his son-in-law; Gary Smith in 2013.
Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
