ALEDO - Mrs. Margaret R. Rutherford, 76, of 304 N. Plum St., Aledo, died at 7:05 this morning in St. Anthony's Hospital, Rock Island, where she had been a patient since Oct. 27.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Riser Chapel, Aledo.
Mrs. Rutherford was the former Margaret R. Meek. She was born Dec. 24, 1885 in Ohio Grove Township, south of Aledo, a daughter of John and Nancy Schauntz Meek.
She was married to Horace Hughes and they resided in Aledo, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Texas before his death in 1932.
She later was married to Benjamin Rutherford, who died several years ago. She was of Methodist faith.
Surviving are two sons, Glen, Moline, and Lee, Aledo; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Hawn, Reynolds; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Marie Sharp, Redwood City, Calif., Mrs. Dora Runbom and Mrs. Raymond Temple, both of Rock Island.
A brother and two grandchildren preceded her in death.

ALEDO - Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Hughes Rutherford, 76, of Aledo, who died yesterday in St. Anthony's Hospital, Rock Island, will be held at 2 tomorrow afternoon in the Reiser Chapel, Aledo.
The Rev. C. H. Essmann, pastor of the Aledo Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery.
The family will be at the chapel after 7 tonight.
Names of two stepchildren, Lt. Col. Benjamin Rutherford of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Connie Shrier, Shipman, Ill., were not listed in the earlier obituary. She was preceded in death by three sisters, a brother and two grandchildren.
