John Moroney a long time Oak Park resident. Beloved husband of Lillian (nee Ford); beloved father of John and William; Linda Serritella, Patricia Moroney, and Judy Collins; loving grandchildren of 13. He was a member of the Chicago police force for some 30 years, was a sergeant in the Marquette district when he retired in 1975. Before joining the department, he was in the Army in World War II. He continued with the Army as a reserve officer and retired as a colonel. Mass was said in Ascension Church in Oak Park.
