Huckaby, Pastor, Preacher, friend, confidante, but whatever name he was called it was uttered with love and respect and he always answered in kind. Bro. Huckaby surrendered to the ministry at age 17 and was ordained in 1951. He pastored many churches throughout the years before retiring from Neuville Baptist Church in 2009. After retirement, he moved his membership back to Martinsville Baptist Church and continued to serve in many other capacities because he said "God had no retirement plan." Mr. Huckaby graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1950 and Stephen F. Austin in 1967. He was a die hard lumberjack sports fan and attended as many games as possible. Marion served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict. He was waiting to ship out when the truce was signed. Memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held at Martinsville Baptist Church on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at 10 a.m. with Bro. Dee Daniel officiating. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
