James Whelen, aged 7 years died at the Williamson Shingle Mill in Williamsonville during the Peshtigo Fire. He was identified by men from surrounding townships and buried in a temporary grave at the site of the mill. A list was kept of the grave numbers with names and ages. Most of the victims are still buried at the site as the whole area was burned over and no one had the means to re-inter victims in cemeteries. The Tornado Park is the burial site where the mill once stood. A total of 57 people died at the mill. Thomas Whelen, age 14 may be a relative buried in No.3. James Whelen was buried in No. 27.
