Sammie Clayton Deckard, 74, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Monday, April 21st, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN.
Sammie was born in Tompkinsville, KY on January 5, 1940, a son of the late Ruby (Hargis) and Bulie Deckard.
Sammie was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. He was retired from Sprowl Lumber where he was a millworker.
Sammie is survived by a daughter, Brenda Wheeler, of Tompkinsville, KY; a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Delinda Deckard, of Greenfield, IN; and 5 grandchildren.
Sammie is also survived by a sister, Linda Montegomery, of Bowling Green, KY. four brothers, Jr. Deckard, of Tompkinsville, KY; Jesse Deckard, of Tompkinsville, KY; Terry Deckard, of Tompkinsville, KY; David Deckard, of Scottsville, KY;
He is preceded in death by one sister; Lola Fox.
Funeral Services will be held at Yokley Trible Funeral Home with Rodney Deckard and Gary Emberton officiating on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 1:00 P.M.
Visitation is Wednesday 4:00-9:00 P.M. and Thursday 6:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
Burial is in Beautiful Home Cemetery.
