Lloyd Rush Taylor, 93, of Arcadia, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014, at the Heritage Manor. Lloyd was born on April 8, 1921 in Findlay, Ohio to Rush and Ada (Newhouse) Taylor. He married Margaret Whitten August 24, 1945, and they shared 68 years together.
Lloyd graduated from Arcadia High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from the Ohio State University in 1943. He was a member of the Alpha Gamma Sigma Fraternity. Lloyd was the President of the Arcadia Telephone Company for many years. He was a Farmer for 50 years, and sold Federal Crop Insurance for 30 years. He was also a VoAg teacher for a period of time. Lloyd was a Farm Bureau Member, a charter member of the Arcadia Lions Club, and a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church in Arcadia.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Gaylen (Bette) Taylor, of Arizona, David (Dana) Taylor, of Arizona, Tyrone (Julie) Taylor, of Arcadia, Diana (Jerry) Glenn, of Tennessee, and Christine Short, of Findlay; grandchildren, Jason Taylor, Daniel Taylor, Mandy Taylor, Mike Taylor, Heidi Taylor, Penny (Ken) Paul, Zachary (Jackie) Short, Christopher (Lynn) Short, Shelly (Kris) Kloenthrup, Jessica Click, William Brees, Lisa Dutton, Cathy (Scott) Maulding; and 15 great-grandchildren. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Nicholas Taylor.
Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, one hour prior to service (10:00-11:00 a.m.) at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arcadia. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Chris Dittmer officiating. Burial will be held in Arcadia Cemetery.
