Donald "Duke" Scott, age 71, of Laporte, MN died Friday, March 14, 2008 at his home.

Donald Harry Scott was born September 30, 1936 in Bracken, Saskatchewan, Canada to Walter A. and Emma Oben Scott. In 1944, the family moved to Bemidji, MN. After attending school, Duke moved to Minneapolis, MN and went to work at Johnson Brothers Construction.

In November of 1966, he married Lori Sorensen. He continued to work for Johnson Brothers until his retiring as a foreman in 1993. He then went to work for Blaine Brothers Trucking. In 1995, he completely retired and moved to Laporte, MN. During these years, Duke enjoyed going to auction sales, tinkering, spending time with his grandchildren and hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his four children; Korrine Scott, Parkers Prairie, MN, Katie Nealey, Sartell, MN, Keith (Sara) Scott, Red Wing, MN and Kristopher Scott, New London, MN; 9 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren; brother, Walter "Dick" (Polly) Scott, Aumsville, OR and sister Helen Fiskum, Bemidji, MN.

His parents, 3 sisters, and a nephew preceded him in death.
