SAMUEL NORTHRUP
Victor - Samuel I. Northrup, 79, a well known local businessman for 35 years, died Saturday, July 25, at his home, 98 West Main St., Victor.
Mr. Northrup was born Feb. 24,1885, in Waverly, the son of William and Ruth Squires Northrup. He spent his early life in that area coming to Victor in 1929. He at one time operated a milk truck route in Avon, which was later sold to the late Victor Annis and later established Northrup's Ice Cream Store, from which he retired in 1961.
He leaves his widow, the former Rose Lee Kratzenburg; three daughters, Mrs. Harold D. Long of Victor; Mrs. Charles Wilson, Pittsford and Miss Esther Lee Northrup, Cleveland, Ohio; one son, Ernest of Avon; five grandchildren and three grand-grandchildren.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cotton Funeral Home, Victor.
Private funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Macklin of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was in Avon.
He had also opened the former Coleman grocery on West Main Street in Avon.
