Gene and Joyce were married for 57 years. They owned several local businesses together, and were both very active in many Hobart organizations. Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

They were preceded in death by their son, David Lahaie.

Survivors include their children, Cindi Lahaie, Marcia Weimer and son, Patrick Lahaie; grandchildren-Jeremy (Lissette) Lahaie, Nikki Lahaie, James Lahaie, Daniel Lahaie, Kimberly Whitworth and Michael Whitworth; numerous great-grandchildren, and other loving relatives and friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his brother, David "Sonny" Lahaie and is survived by his brothers; John "Jack" Lahaie, Anthony (Susan) Lahaie; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Dottie) Lahaie.

Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Thomas and sister, Darlene Rodriguez and is survived by her sisters-Catherine (Lynn) Bollhorst, Gayle (Jack) Cory and brother, Gary Thomas.

Friends are invited to visit with Gene and Joyce's family for a combined memorial visitation on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Burns Funeral Home, 701 East 7th Street, Hobart. There will be a veteran's tribute for Gene Friday at 7:00 p.m.
