Dave Phillips, 53, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 26, 2014.

Dave was born July 25, 1961, in Monterey, Calif. He grew up there since his father was stationed at Fort Ord and attended Martin Luther King Jr. High School and graduated from Seaside High School.

After attending college, he married Liz Phillips, and they moved to Klamath Falls, Ore., in 1989. In the early 1990s, Dave began working for Lautorette Heating & Air and soon after started his own business as a self-employed contractor.

Dave and Liz had four daughters, Jessica, Alex, Cassie and Sam. He worked as a successful contractor for the rest of his life, including building his own home to take care of his family. Dave was a member of United Evangelical Free Church. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and watching all football. He was always the best dancer. He enjoyed his trips to Great America with his family, Santa Cruz, Shasta Lake and attending the Klamath Cruise. Most of all, Dave loved his family and enjoyed barbecuing for everyone and making pizza bread Friday nights with all the kids.

He will be remembered for his hardworking, gentle, humble and selfless nature, and for his generosity to all. No matter what time of day or night, he would help anyone in need. As his grandkids will tell you, "Papa Bear" will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, daughters, grandchildren, step-mom, and honorary son. He was preceded in death by his father, Vern Phillips.
