Jerry L. “Jake” Stancomb, Galesburg Chapel 70, of 280 E. Losey St., Galesburg, Illinois died at 4:50 AM on Monday, November 24, 2014 in the Heartland Health Care Center, Galesburg.

He was born on January 8, 1944 in Smithshire, Illinois to Roy and Helen Tracy Stancomb.

Jerry is survived by three brothers, Fred Stancomb of Galesburg, Sonny “Bill”(and Donna) Stancomb of Knoxville, Illinois and Bob Stancomb of Alpha, Illinois; three sisters, Shirley (and Carl) Davis of Rio, Illinois, Barbara (and Phillip) Woolsey of Galesburg and Betty (and Lloyd) Johnson of Oquawka, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Jerry worked at many different farms for over 50 years. He had lived in Galesburg since 1991.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 AM Friday, November 28, 2014 at Altona Cemetery, Altona, Illinois. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.h-p-w.com.
