Wendell Buell, son of the late Abraham Buell and Grace Lee Burell, was born May 20, 1940 in Pineville, Kentucky. He departed this life November 21, 2014 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 1 day. He was united in marriage to Jaquelyn Fletcher March 17, 1961 in Novi, Michigan and to this union four children were born. He served in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Wendell spent his life as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years he was a self employed carpenter. He was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of Barren Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Jackie Buell of the home; three sons and three daughters-in-law: Wendell Abraham and Ruth Buell of Traverse City, Michigan, Michael Lee and Cynthia Buell of New Lisbon, Michigan and Paul Dean and Marcia Buell of Howell, Michigan; one daughter and son-in-law: JoAnn and Eric Brown of Dearborn Heights, Michigan; two brothers: Skip Buell of Walled Lake, Michigan and Jerry Wayne and wife, Regina Buell of Heartland, Michigan; one sister: Janet Ervin and husband, Johnny of Oxford, Michigan; eight grandchildren: Anna Mae Buell, Josh Wendell Buell, Holly Irene Howell, Brett Buell, Hunter Brown, Merina Grace Buell, Harlee Buell and Gabriel John Buell; one great grandson: Cleighton Michael Wendell Buell; two sisters-in-law: Ruth Moody and Doris Messer both of Mount Pleasant; and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Billy Dean Buell and one infant brother: Jay Buell.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Barren Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant with Alan Miesner officiating. Burial will be at Barren Fork Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25 from 6-8 p.m.

Pallbearers: Wendell Abraham Buell, Michael Buell, Paul Buell, Jerry Buell, Josh Buell and Brett Buell.

Honorary Pallbearers: Eric Brown, Clifford Fletcher,Bobby Johnson, Chris Ford, Gregory Messer, Skip Buell, Jim Spillman and Ron Grover.
