A pharmacist, Mr. Kolb was president of Kolb Brothers Drug Co. Inc. He was a decorated World War II veteran who served with the 1st Infantry Division (The Big Red One) in North Africa and Europe. He was a graduate of Purdue University, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mayfield and the Mayfield Rotary Club.
Surviving are his wife, Susan H. Kolb; one son, Dr. Frank J. Kolb III; three daughters, Grace "Genny" Morgan, Caroline Hooper and Mary Sutherland; three stepchildren; one brother, Louis Kolb; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Walter Kolb. His parents were Frank and Porter Holland Kolb.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield. The Rev. Jon Faraone will officiate. Burial services will be private.
