Beth M. Kavanagh, age 83 of Madison, died Thursday, September 14, 2006 following a brief illness. She was born January 26, 1923 in Gillett, Wisconsin, the daughter of Richard and Amanda (McCutcheon) Kingston. She married James L. Kavanagh in 1951. She worked at Mendota Mental Health Center from 1957 to 1985 and also sold Mary Kay Cosmetics. Beth was very active with her religion. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed sharing the Bibles hope for the future, with those she met. She was a good friend to many people and was always willing to share whatever she had with all. Beth loved to travel and visit new places, friends and family. She will be missed by many because of her warm smile and deep love that she had. Beth is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Michael) Lewandowski, and Marybeth Kavanagh, all of Madison; sisters, Anita (Bill) Melius, Scottsdale, Arizona and Kay (Bill) Beyer, Fort Pierce, Florida, sister-in-law Hazel Kingston of Madison, Wisconsin; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Keith and Allen. The family would like to thank those of the MICU at St. Mary’s Hospital for their help and support. A memorial service will be held at the KINGDOM HALL OF JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES, 5475 Portage Rd., Madison on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 3 p.m.
