Robert “Bobby” Dale Grigg, Jr.

LEAGUE CITY — Robert “Bobby” Dale Grigg, Jr., 63, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, of natural causes.

Bobby was born August 13, 1947, to Robert and Gertrude Grigg in Galveston, Texas and was a lifelong area resident. He attended Kirwin High School in Galveston and later worked many years for the Galveston Daily News and then the Houston Chronicle before retiring. Devoted father, son, brother, husband and friend, family was always first with Bobby. He spent his spare time as an avid reader and cook.

He is survived by his mother Gertrude Grigg; his sons Blake Grigg and wife Kelly, and Jeff Grigg and wife Katie; grandsons Jack and Preston; sister Sandra Sampson, Kathy Smith and husband Greg; brother Paul Grigg and wife Elizabeth; two nephews, Michael and Larry Falks; two nieces, Laura McCormick and Megan Smith; Elena Falks, daughter in spirit; and Eva Grigg, beloved friend.

At his request, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in his name to the Galveston Historical Foundation.
