Lettie Jeane was born March 9, 1926 in Mexia, Texas, the only child of Fred and Lettie Langley Griswold. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she met and married her husband, Cliff Branan, Jr (1947-1971). At OU, Lettie was a member of Chi Omega and developed a lifelong love affair with the game of bridge.

She will be remembered for her sharp wit, her bold eye ware, her over the top seasonal holiday decorations and her unconditional love for family and friends. Lettie loved to entertain and enjoyed hosting events for her paddle tennis group, the March Birthday Club, the One and Only Club, and the numerous bridge clubs to which she belonged. She was a member of the Dig and Hope Garden Club, the Geological Wives Club, Chi Omega Alumnae Club and a member of All Souls Episcopal Church. Lettie loved to travel, shop, working puzzles (both jigsaw and crossword), needle point, and a good strong cocktail. She dearly loved her friends, her family, her church and her country.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan, and son-in-law, Bob Stahl of Missoula, MT, and their four children, Mandy Stahl McKee and husband Tom, Farmingdale, ME, Laura Stahl, Seattle, WA, Bob Stahl and Jeff Stahl, Missoula, MT; and her son, Cliff, and daughter-in-law, Connell Branan of Oklahoma City and their two children, Ford and Langley Branan. She is also survived by her three great grandchildren, Alistair, Caroline and Charlie McKee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband, David Douglass, and a granddaughter, Mischa Stahl.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Mitos Lowry, Rowena Masias and Cindy LaReese for their compassion, entertainment and around the clock care.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of St. Mary at All Souls Episcopal Church, 6400 North Pennsylvania Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
