Ashbaugh Farm Cemetery
I received your request for info on the Ashbaugh Farm Cemetery. I am sorry to say that I can not get to the Cemetery as it is in the middle of a swamp area and on Private Property. I have talked to several people who know the area and they say that a lot of the Headstones have sunk into the ground. They also say they would not try to go to the area as it is not safe. Sorry I can not help you with this request. Any other Cemeteries in my area I would love to help you with.

Albert was the son of John D. and Sarah Ann (Polmateer) Armstrong. He was born into a farming family in Cameron and spent his whole life there. He had a half-sister, Mary J. born 1860 and a half-brother, John born 1862 both born to his father's first wife, Minerva Snyder.

John and Sarah Ann had four children besides Albert, Lula I. born 1867, Lyman born 1869, Annette "Nettie" born 1872, and Clara B. born 1876.

Albert completed the 6th grade. He later registered for the draft for WWI. He was a short man, medium build with blue eyes and brown hair.

Albert worked as a day laborer in farming and later as a track laborer for the Erie Railroad Company.

December 3, 1924 at 51 years old, Albert married 19 year old Nellie Cole, daughter of Theodore and Amanda "Mandy" (Covell) Cole. They had one daughter, Elsie V., born June 30, 1925 who died March 3, 2010. She married Stanley S. Lamphier March 9, 1942 in Cameron. Stanley worked in general farming.

Nellie's mother, Amanda, passed away in 1921, and in 1925, her father and brother, Robert, were living with Nellie's family.

Albert died at 74 years old, and Nellie lived on for another 33 years, passing away at 75 years old in 1981.
