James E. Mahan, age 44 of Troy passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born on May 26, 1970 in Troy, Ohio to Jerry B. and Christina (Morse) Mahan and they survive of Troy. He was married to his beloved wife Amy E. Siler on December 17, 1994 and she survives of Troy. Also surviving is a son Keagan at home, brother Brad Mahan of Troy, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ken and Rashelle Siler of Troy. James was a 1988 graduate of Troy High School, was a (Free Lance) Proffessional Photographer and most recently worked with Troy Community Radio and with Dayton Business Journal. He previously worked for Troy Daily News, Piqua Daily Call, Urbana Daily Citizen and Springfield Daily News. He was also on the Miami County Rabbit Advisory Board as secretary and was advisor of the Hare Raisers 4-H Club. He enjoyed gardening, photography, cooking, music and was an avid concert fan. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. Allen Marheine officiating. Interment to follow at Casstown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
