Bertha Evans Maynard, age 85 of Crum, West Virginia, passed away Monday August 31, 2015 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Born July 12, 1930 in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Ben Harris and Virgie Spaulding Harris. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Maynard {2001}; three brothers, Flem, Joe, and Johnny Harris; three sisters, Arminda, Polly, and Clista. She is survived by three sons, Charles Evans of Genoa, West Virginia, Isaac Maynard, Jr of Huntington, West Virginia, and Ira Evans of Williamson, West Virginia; four daughters, Virgie Varney of Pinson Fork, Kentucky, Deloris Stanley and Judy Rose both of Williamson, West Virginia and Wanda Spaulding of Crum, West Virginia; one brother, James Harris of Edmonton, Kentucky; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.



Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the Silver Creek United Baptist Church at Crum, West Virginia with burial to follow in the Family Cemetery at Genoa, West Virginia. Gabe Smith will officiate. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Friends may visit the church from 5-10pm Tuesday and until the time of service on Wednesday. Arrangements are by the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.
