Jean Laverne Creasbaum (nee Martin) was born Sept. 16, 1923, in Chicago Heights, IL. She was the fourth of six children born to Harry and Ella Martin (nee Olsen). Jean grew up in Chicago Heights and went to Bloom High School.

She married Charles "Bud" Creasbaum Dec. 23, 1944, in Illinois. The couple made their home in Hammond, IN, where they raised four children. Jean was my aunt, and I remember family get-togethers at their house, goofing around with my cousins and listening to Uncle Bud tell stories. They were active in their church and enjoyed a variety of hobbies. [Charles Leland Creasbaum Jr (1921-2009).]

Jean's obituary:
Jean L. Creasbaum (nee Martin) age 91 of Highland, IN passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2015. She is survived by four children: Charles L. (Anne) Creasbaum III of Valparaiso, IN, Beth E. (Anthony) Onofrio of Lyndon Station, WI, Thomas J. (Pamela) Creasbaum of Des Plaines, IL, Linda J. Chandler of Mokena, IL; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Pat Creasbaum, many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Charles (Bud) Creasbaum Jr.; parents Harry and Ella Martin; four brothers: Thomas, Harry, Richard, Robert; and sister, Helen Quigley. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a long time member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Highland. She loved crafts and cross-stitching, fishing, reading, birdwatching, going to casinos, playing games on her computer and Wii Bowling. She will be dearly missed by her family.
