Sue was in born in 1932 in Ohio, the daughter of Clara and Lloyd McNutt. She earned a BA from Bowling Green State University, Ohio and Masters degrees in both Counseling and Educational Administration from the University of Southern California.

She taught briefly in Cleveland, Ohio, before moving to Los Angeles in 1961. She was a teacher, counselor, and Administrator in Los Angeles (CA) Unified School District before retiring in 1991. After her first trip to Natchez, she knew this would be where she retired. Sue treasured family and friends. Proof of her adventurous spirit was driving across East Germany to Berlin in 1984 (before the fall of the wall) with Maria and two friends. She travelled extensively and loved cruises, a highlight being the South Pacific.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Judy McNutt Tropp. She was survived by her partner and best friend of many years, Maria Bowser of Natchez, Sister, Nancy Welch and husband, Don of Springfield OH, Brother, Ted McNutt and wife Ann of Riverside CA, sister Polly DeWine of Borrego, CA, two special nieces, Kim Brull and husband Richard of Parkville MO, and Deborah Welch and husband John, of Columbus Ohio, very special friends, Peaches Henning and Katherine Kendall of Sebastopol CA, her Natchez buddy, Margy Graham, as well as her loving extended Natchez family, the Ogden’s.
