Donald Luther Lewis, 75, of Morganton, NC, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016.
He was born October 19, 1940 in Batesburg, SC to the late William Frank Lewis and Mary Dickert Lewis.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a faithful church servant. Mr. Lewis retired from Lowes Foods where he was an outstanding manager winning numerous awards. He was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith William Lewis; a daughter, Christina Lynn Lewis; sisters, Linda Craig and Martha Jo Claar.
Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Teddie Sue Adams Lewis; sons, Kevin Lewis and wife, Tracy of Martinsburg, WV, Chris Jones and wife, Debbie of Boomer, NC; sisters, Sandy Miller and husband, Jerry of Marco Island, FL and Gail Brown Thibodeaux and husband, Ben of Katy, TX; brothers, Bruce Lewis of SC and Chuck Lewis and wife, Mary of Fredericksburg, VA; also surviving are a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 11:00am til 12:00pm at Bethel Baptist Church. The service will be at 12:00pm at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
