Memorial services for Keith Swoveland, 64, who passed away on Friday, July 29, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness will be held on Friday August 5 at Grace United Methodist Church at 1p.m. with Pastor Mark Dooley of Wesson, MS officiating. Visitation will be from 12 until time of service at the church on Friday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Keith was born in Lonoke, AR on June 15, 1952 to Earl Swoveland and Rose Frazier. He spent his early years living in Coalgate, Ok then came to LA and attended school in Vidalia.

Keith’s career spanned over thirty years in the Oil Industry as an onshore /offshore base operator directing and dispatching air craft, equipment, supplies and personnel to offshore operations. He worked bases in Fouchon, LA, Galveston, TX, and Corpus Christie, TX as well as spending several years working in Tanzania, Africa. He was well respected in the oil patch for his cool head and the professional manner in which he performed his job.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Shane.

Survivors include his sisters Denise Landers and husband Chris, Darla Tippitt and brother John Swoveland as well as several other family members. He will be remembered for his generosity toward his lifetime friends and will be missed by many.
