Services for Aaron W Mowers, 47, of Lincklaen Center Road, who tragically lost his life on Saturday, August 3 at Seeley Bay, Ontario. Services at United Church of DeRuyter, at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 8, 1991. The Rev. Jo-Loraine Anderson officiating. Arrangements by Bewley Funeral Home, DeRuyter, NY

Aaron grew up in the small community of Lincklaen, NY and graduated from DeRuyter Central School. He joined the military and stationed at Loring Air Force Base, near Caribu, Maine. He was an avid deer hunter, and described opening day of the season was "his Christmas". A carpenter by trade, he had his own construction business for several years.

In the early 70's he and childhood friend, John Custer, bought the Roots Inn on DeRuyter Lake and renamed it The Big Dog Inn. It was an instant hit and was always packed on the weekends with people dancing to the many bands that played there.

Aaron was predeceased by his bride, Susan Chalow Mowers in 1965, and his mother, Vernetta in 1982.

He is survived by his daughters, Elise & Linette of DeRuyter; his father, Donald of DeRuyter, his brother Lynn (Kathy)of Lincklaen and sisters Norma Mierke(Butch)of Lincklaen, Marjory Friedman (Ron) of Marathon and Delores Mowers of DeRuyter, plus many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
