Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 in the Chapel at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, IL with the Rev. Pam Laing officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Fourth Street, Effingham, IL.

Joyce was born on March 3, 1923, in Mount Vernon, IL, the daughter of Wilson and Eva Lena (Chambliss) Lively. She married Charles E. Jeffries on December 6, 1942 in Belton, TX, and he preceded her in death in 1972.
Joyce was a business woman who owned and operated Effingham Parts and Services LTD (NAPA) of Effingham and Altamont for 53 years. One of her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and spending time with them. Joyce also enjoyed working in her yard. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Effingham.
Joyce is survived by her son, David M. (Julie M.) Jeffries of Effingham; grandchildren, Michelle (Rhett Zumbahlen) Jeffries, Missy (Brent) Koester, Brian Jeffries, Brad (Laura) Jeffries, and Alex Jeffries, all of Effingham; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; brothers, Morris Lively and Ed Lively; and sisters, Olive Mays and Margaret Lively.
