Sharon M. Getchell, 64, Kokomo, passed away at 8:06 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2016 at Community Howard Regional Health. She was born August 18, 1952 in Seattle, Washington to Marvin and Eden (Baker) Wilhite. On May 10, 1981 she married John C. Getchell who preceded her in death.

Sharon graduated from Omak High School in Omak, Washington and went on to work in healthcare. She was a member of Parkman Baptist Church and the church women’s fellowship group in Parkman, Maine.

She is survived by her children, Scott (Annette) Wilhite, Guilford, Maine, Subankia “Susie” (Jimmy) Carpenter, Kokomo, Indiana, and Carter Edminster, Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Renee(Jeffrey) Jicha, Scott (Jennifer) Wilhite, Joshua (Hillary) Wilhite, Ariel Carpenter, T.J. Carpenter, Shelby Edminster, and Joey Edminster; great-grandchildren, Angela Greene, Abigail Wilhite, Ryan Jicha, Conner Wilhite, Maximus Wilhite, and Tyler Carpenter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister.

In Keeping with her wishes, Sharon will be cremated with private family services to be held at a later date. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
