Charles Anderson, 61, born Sept. 14, 1950, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Fairbanks, died April 22, 2012. He passed away unexpectedly at home in Delta Junction, after a short illness.
Charles spent his childhood in North Pole, and graduated from Ben Eielson High School. He joined the Operating Engineers, Local 302, and worked on the trans-Alaska oil pipeline, retiring in 2010. He was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Delta Clearwater Lodge No. 911 and the Pioneers of Alaska Igloo No. 35.
He met the love of his life, Patty Balzarini, at Sourdough 25 years ago. They were married on Aug. 1, 2003. He and Patty spent many happy years together enjoying hunting and fishing and the Alaska lifestyle. Charles loved to do crossword puzzles and watch movies.
He was well known for helping other people. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell (Andy) and Purline (Pat) Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Anderson; brother, Leon Anderson; sister, Karla, and brother-in-law Allen Vacura. He also is survived by his nephews, Alex and Sean; aunt and uncle, Marion and Phil Beautrow; his stepchildren, Dorothy, Randy, MaryAnn, and Leonard; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his many friends.
There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Moose Lodge in Delta Junction.
