Died.

On Wednesday, Sept. 7th, at 7 a.m., at the age of 14 years, Flora Darnella Currie, beloved daughter of Mrs. J. V. Currie, now of Dillon, formerly of Reedy Creek community. The deceased was a youth of noble character, more than ordinary talent and unusual promise.

The moral worth stamped upon her face and noble brow, her amiability and marked piety, won her large circles of friends in Dillon, especially in the church and Sunday School where she worshipped and where her influence as a leader in her circle was already felt. Her death was a sad and shocking surprise, her illness being brief, and not even generally known until death, which "loves a shining mark" claimed her spirit. Brief funeral services were conducted in which both Dr. Dr. Buckner, the pastor, and Rev. Mr. Wilson, the former pastor, took part. The burial was at the Alford cemetery near Reedy Creek church where many old friends and relatives awaited the funeral party, and where appreciative reference was made to the beautiful life, to our view, so prematurely ended on earth. Sad was the meeting of her class in the public school on account of the absence of their dear Flora.

Profound sympathy for members of the family and their relatives is extended by all the friends in Dillon, and by their neighbors and former associates at Reedy Creek. Few of her age will be more missed, or so long remembered as the sweet spirited Flora Currie.
