William George Allen was Chief Recorder, County Sligo, from 1834 to 1849.
Children of William Allen and Anne Cartwright: George Lyttleton , Charlotte, Thomas William, Alicia, Maria, Louisa and Delia. Thomas William became a renowned Rector of Cavan and Archdeacon of Peterborough, Ontario. He is known as "The Venerable Thomas Willam Allen".
"At Callen, Co Kilkenny, John Alexander, aged 29 Years youngest son of the late William Allen Esq, ex-recorder of Sligo" from Waterford news 5 Dec 1862
"Mrs Allen, Wife of William Allen, Recorder of Sligo" from Clare Journal and Ennis Advertiser, Nov 8, 1838.
Under the Deaths section of The Belfast Newsletter of November 26, 1859, it states that, "November 16 at his residence, Johnville, Dublin, Wm. Allen Esq., aged 72 years, for many years Recorder of Sligo." I am trying to find a documented gravesite for him in Dublin or elsewhere.
