Lillie Mae Louise Monroe Brown, 90 of Blenheim, Va. departed this life on Sunday March 7, 2010.

She was born on August 2, 1919 to the late Thomas B. Monroe, Sr, and the late Lucy Wilson Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her husband the late Woodrow Brown; three sisters Ludie Monroe Williams, Eliza and Lucy Monroe; three brothers Thomas B. Monroe, Jr., William Monroe and George Monroe; one nephew Nolan Monroe; and one great niece Brenda Saylor Tibbs.

She was educated in the Albemarle Public School System. She was a homemaker for most of her adult life.

Louise joined Middle Oak Baptist Church at an early age. She loved playing the piano, loved the outdoors and dearly loved her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted family, three nieces; Eunice Monroe Talley of Washington, DC, Ada Monroe Saylor of Charlottesville, Va and Desiree Carr Kretzchmar of Beverly Hills, CA.; one special great nephew that was very attentive to his aunt, Nolan Saylor of Rockville, MD.;and a beloved great nephew Christopher Kociban of Richmond, Va, five great nieces, six great-great nephews; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.

Funeral Sevices were conducted Friday March 19, 2010 at Middle Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Patricia Whindleton officiating.

Interment followed at the Monroe Family Cemetery.


Services of comfort are entrusted to the staff of McClenny Funeral Service, Inc.
