John Jerald 'Jerry' Branson
August 10, 1918 - August 10, 2012

Branson, John Jerald, better known as Jerry, celebrated his 94th birthday on August 10, 2012 when he went home to see Jesus and his beloved wife, Joan, of 67 years.

Jerry was also preceded in death by his parents John Joseph and Lillian Branson, and sister Rowena Hill.

He graduated from Wichita University in 1937, where he served as president of his fraternity, Men of Webster.

Because of the influence of his economic professor, Jerry bought farm and ranch land and raised angus cattle, harvested wheat and other crops, and served as president of the Farm and Ranch Club.

Whenever asked what business he was in, he would reply, "commercial real estate and ranching."

Jerry was also involved with his father-in-law, Hardy Hurst, in Western Outdoor Advertising which became Hurst-Branson Investment Co. in 1957, upon the death of Mr. Hurst.

During this time, Jerry served on the Wichita Planning Commission Board.

Jerry loved God and felt God would guide him through whatever the future might hold. He always felt there was no man nor woman he could not look in the eye.

At the time of death, Jerry was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include three daughters; Jan, Jody and Julie, five grandchildren; Kendall, Jarrod, Kalissa, Molly and George.
