Funeral Services Held for Mary Ann Berger

Funeral services for Mary Ann Berger, who died July 6 in Wichita, were held in the Mulvane First Brethren Church Monday, July 8, at 2 p.m. with the Reverend M. W. Dodds, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Jacob Miller was pianist and Mrs. Ted Norden sand "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."

Serving as pallbearers were Cleve Rennick, Richard Derr, Ross Rennick, Lawrence Rennick, Leroy Boatman and Orville Taylor. Interment was in Mulvane Cemetery. Mulvane Mortuary was in charge of Arrangements.

OBITUARY
Mary Ann Berger passed away at the home of her son in Wichita on July 6, 1957 at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 8 days. She was born January 28, 1873 in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois to Mr. W. L. and Iowa Rennick, the fourth child in a family of nine.

Her parents moved from Illinois in 1874 and homesteaded the farm 6 miles northeast of Mulvane, where she grew to womanhood. At an early age, she became of member of the Shiloh United Brethren Church, where her membership has ever remained.

On December 20, 1903 she was united in marriage to Herbert Spencer Berger. To this union was born a daughter, Edna Buchanan of Mulvane, and a son, March, of Wichita. In 1910 the family moved to Texas where they lived for three years, at which time they returned to the old homestead. Mrs. Berger lived at this farm and around Mulvane the rest of her life. Her husband preceded her in death on January 1, 1945.

She leaves to mourn her passing, besides her children, one sister, Myrtie Westfall of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, four grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
