During his long career, he appeared in 85 films including notably in "Campo de' fiori" by Mario Bonnard (1943), "La freccia nel fianco" by Alberto Lattuada (1944 ), "Emigrantes" by Aldo Fabrizi (1948), "In nome della legge" and "Sedotta e abbandonata" by Pietro Germi. Urzì also worked with film directors such as: Alessandro Blasetti, Luigi Comencini, Claude Chabrol, Charles Lizzani and Joseph Losey. Francis Ford Coppola chose him for the role of Vitelli, the sicilian father of Apollonia in "The Godfather" (1972). His awards include two Nastri d'Argento (1944-1965) and the prize as best actor at the Cannes Film Festival (1964).
