T.SGT. US ARMY. Served with the Army Air Corps as an engineer and tail gunner on a B-17 Flyning Fortress called the "Classy Chassy", completing 26 missions over Germany in 1943-1944. He was honored with the Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, and Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, as well as a Presidential Citation.
