Shirley Babb April 4 1923- November 12, 2007 A native of Oakland, Shirley Babb passed at away at 84 years of age. Well known and respected in her community, Mrs. Babb was a friend to all. Shirley was a lover of good mysteries and an amazing seamstress, designing her daughter's wedding dress, dress shirts, and dolls. A unique, wise, loving and accepting woman who was capable of adjusting with the times. Never one to question reasons behind an action only being there to love, understand and help. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Walter Dean Babb, and three of their children; Randal Dean, Daniel Dean and Silvia Ann Babb. She is survived by her sister Wanda Babb, daughter Christine and her husband Jim Steigerwald, Grandchildren Amanda Jayne Steigerwald and partner Tali Even-Kesef and Matthew Clinton Steigerwald and wife Nina, and a great grandson Donovan James Steigerwald A visitation will be held Thursday November 15, from 4-8pm at Guerrero Mortuary 407 Estudillo Ave, San Leandro. The funeral will be held at Guerrero Mortuary, Friday the 16th at 2pm. In lieu of Flowers the family request donations to be sent to Heifer International in Shirley's name (800) 422-0474 Services under the Care of GUERRERO MORTUARY (510)483-5300.
