Just two days shy of his 89th birthday, Glen Emerson Montgomery, Jr. entered into rest after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by Connie, the love of his life of 56 years. He was fortunate to find Margie Arp-Montgomery, the second love of his life eight years ago. Glen is survived by his brother John Montgomery and sister-in law Lucille Bowe. He was the loving father to three daughters: Linda (Pat) Love, Wanda Draughon, and Glenda Craine. He was the proud grandfather to four grandchildren, Christy (John) Kirkpatrick, Jessica Draughon, Katie Love, and Glen Draughon. He was the proud great-grandfather to Ian, Jillian, and William Kirkpatrick. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family, and life-long friends. He leaves behind the second family that embraced him: Margie Arp-Montgomery, Nancy and Larry Neff, David and Carol Arp, and Ruth & Bill Sereni, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Glen was born to Glen and Mildred Montgomery. He was the oldest of 5 children. The family moved to Oakland, California after Glen finished high school. He remained in California and began his career at Caterpillar Tractor as a tool and die maker. He retired after 43 years. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Glen was a Past Master of Live Oak Lodge #61, as well as officer's and candidate's coach for over 20 years. He was Past Patron of Oak Leaf Chapter Eastern Star, and participated in local and state duties in the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. He was a member of many Masonic Fraternities. He enjoyed photography, traveling, reading, old cars, attending Masonic meetings, spending time in the country at Berry Creek, and being with family and friends. Services will be under the auspices of Live Oak Lodge #61 at 3903 Broadway, Oakland, California, at 11:30 A.M., on Thursday, December 18th.
